About Me

Hello! It’s so nice to meet you! My Family Jam is a place where I write and express my thoughts and experiences with motherhood, birth, children, family life, nutrition, homemaking, homeschooling, marriage  and all things related!

Honestly, I am swamped and overwhelmed with all of these things at all times, so it is hard to find time to sit and write, but I am driven to share what I have experienced, with women and families, worldwide.

I pray that what I share is helpful to many readers and a blessing in their lives and that of their families.

I asked my husband one day for one word he would use to describe me, and his answer was “Passionate”.

He says that I am very passionate about many things.

And he is right! I am passionate about so many things and I hope that I can convey that passion through the things that I write about.

A touch about me personally…I love going barefoot, wearing earrings, dressing up to go on dates with my husband, reading, music, watching movies, talking to my family, and feeling my baby’s kisses.

I simply LOVE the outdoors…not in a back country hiking sort of way, but in a wander around my yard and smell the roses, growing a garden, watching sunsets and listening to thunder storms with my husband, sort of way.

I enjoy the smell of basil, hanging up clothes to dry outside and I think that butter makes everything better! (Oh, and cheese, too!)

I home school our children, grow a vegetable garden with my whole family, preserve food, bake and cook from scratch, and use the knowledge of herbs and plants to help my family stay healthy.

I have given birth multiple times at home with an experienced midwife, and have a passion for showing women, that giving birth can be beautiful, natural and  that God’s design for the process of birth is incredible!  The more I learn, the more I am amazed at how many small details work together for our bodies to give birth to our babies!

There is so much more I could tell you about me, like how me and my husband met  (when we were 11 and 12) and our courtship story which led to our marriage in 2011, how I grew up in a large family, my experiences performing and traveling with my family and more…

I will leave that for my blog posts. I hope you will enjoy your visit and come here often, so we can get to know each other!
