Modest Maternity Dresses for Pregnant and Nursing Moms: Affordable, Comfortable and Stylish Maternity Fashion
You’ve gotten to the point that you desperately need some maternity dresses, right?
Your rapidly growing belly has you looking for options, but sticker shock is making you decide that it might not be too bad to resort to wearing hand me downs from other family members.
You shouldn’t have to, though!!
You should be stylin’ your own look and feeling glowy and beautiful in your pregnancy!
For my first couple of babies, I thrifted “maternity” clothes and had a few items passed on to me.
I didn’t update my style each time, but just pulled out the same things for each pregnancy.
I used larger sized skirts with elastic waistbands, regular shirts and blouses that were made for older women and styled with more material at the waistline and never really wore dresses, because I was usually breastfeeding the last baby and wanted the convenience of wearing a skirt and blouse.
Though I was okay with the things that I had, I did wish that I had some better and prettier options!! I mean, it’s hard to feel beautiful and attractive when you’re pregnant, am I right?
At the time, I thought that buying a maternity/nursing dress would be too extravagant and expensive, especially after looking through the Motherhood Maternity store at the Mall.
I just couldn’t stomach paying a whopping $70.00 for one piece.
I did splurge after saving up birthday and Christmas money, on a maternity coat from Motherhood Maternity, which I’ve continued to use with almost all of my pregnancies, but otherwise, the prices just scared me away…and the styles, to be honest!
I am a Traditional Catholic Woman, who highly values my modesty and finding maternity options that filled the bill and were still attractive, was tough, so since I had been able to make do with what I had, I stopped looking after a while.
It wasn’t until my 5th pregnancy, that I decided to look again and see if I could find something that was affordable and pretty, as well as convenient to nurse in.
After browsing Amazon, I found and tried some very pretty maternity dress options and fell in love with the brand, the styles, the comfort and the price.
Instead of the $70.00 -$150.00 range that I was used to seeing, I found items that were around $25.00 – $50.00 each, and the dresses were ones that I could use for several seasons…pregnancy, nursing and in between!
Motherbee maternity has so many beautiful patterns and dress styles that leave you feeling gorgeous and are still very comfortable.
I LOVE the fabric! It is high quality, and sooooo soft! Every one that I have worn, has been very comfortable, and that is ALWAYS a plus during pregnancy!
They are also designed perfectly for nursing, so they worked out awesome for nursing my last baby, while I was pregnant and moving right into nursing the next.
I even wear the dresses currently while I am only three pounds over my dream weight and they still look good.
For me personally, I wanted to fill in the neckline, since that follows my modesty standards and I have found a great option for that, which I highly recommend.
Halftee works really well for nursing and eliminates the bunchy feeling of extra layers at the waist. They are on the pricey side, but I found that I can buy two colors and use them for just about everything. Plus they are reversible and mine have lasted approx. 2 years.
Feeling beautiful and comfortable while pregnant can be a real challenge, but I finally feel like I have the solution.
And it’s so nice to finally be wearing dresses again to church! Or for everyday, when I need a boost in my moral.
I really can’t say enough about the loveliness of these dresses and how much I love them! And when they are running a good sale, you can pick up a few for very little.
I think that I bought my last ones from them for around $15. each on a closeout sale. So not bad at all!
I think that knowing that I can not only wear them for the pregnancy, but while I am nursing, as well as throughout my regular in between baby times, makes MotherBee maternity, such a good purchase for me.
I have always wished I could recommend them to all the expectant mothers out there, and now I have!!
